The bes'marbure (singular: bes'marbur), or spaulders, were pieces of Mandalorian armor that protected the shoulders of the wearer. The bes'marbure was split between a right piece, the beskad bes'marbur, and a left piece, the kal bes'marbur. Mandalorian warriors typically reserved the beskad bes'marbur for clan or personal marks, while wearing unit insignia on the kal bes'marbur. Later Mandalorian bes'marbure were much more reduced in size from the pauldrons worn by ancient Mandalorians like Mandalore the Indomitable during the Great Sith War.[1]
