Benzene was a substance. Authorities recommended extreme caution and use of benzene applicators when approaching a criminal known as the "Marauder of Endor."[1]

Behind the scenes

Benzene was mentioned in a one-page wanted poster, written by Bob Carrau for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that collects concept designs and photographs from various George Lucas projects.[1] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in the book is non-canonical.[2]

In the real world, benzene is an organic chemical compound, a natural constituent of crude oil, and one of the most basic petrochemicals.
