In 16 ABY, Behn-Kihl-Nahm served as the Chair of the Senate as well as the chairbeing of the Defense Council. As a close political ally and personal friend of Chief of State Leia Organa Solo, who nicknamed him "Bennie". The Chair of the Senate worked hard to deflect the political attacks aimed at Organa Solo following Darama Nil Spaar's departure from Coruscant.
