The Battle of New Bornalex took place in 19.42 BBY, during the last months of the Clone Wars, as part of the Outer Rim Sieges.

The battle

A Separatist army made up of Mandalorian Protectors, BL-series Battle Legionnaires and other various battle droids executed a stunning blitzkrieg against the Galactic Republic targets at New Bornalex.

One well documented skirmish that took place during this battle involved the Galactic Marines. While engaging B2 super battle droids, the weapons systems of the Marines' prototype spacetrooper armor failed. Nevertheless, the Galactic Marines fought on, literally tearing their enemies apart with the enhanced strength granted to them by their power armor. This engagement gave the Galactic Marines a fierce reputation.
