Battle of Ikkrukk

The Battle of Ikkrukk, also known as the Battle of Grail City^[5] or Mission to Ikkrukk,^[4] was a battle fought^[5] in 34 ABY^[4] during the war between the First Order and the Resistance on the planet Ikkrukk when the First Order declared to the inhabitants of the planet that they now fell under the control of the First Order.^[2] Thanks to the help of Black Squadron and the return of its commander, Poe Dameron, who arrived shortly after the Battle of Crait^[5] that had been waged concurrent to the Battle of Grail City,^[4] the city's defenses were able to destroy the attacking Maxima-A class heavy cruiser Fortitude. Overjoyed, Prime Minister Grist promised to help the Resistance in any way she could.^[5]

Only a few hours after the victory over the First Order, Grist went back on her word, alleging there was too much damage to Grail City to afford supporting the Resistance and that such aid would only give the First Order more cause to return. According to her, Grail City needed to rebuild as quickly as possible as a sign that the First Order would not overwhelm her people. To Dameron, however, her dismissal was a case of someone forgetting their promises as soon as they were out of immediate danger. He further suspected that First Order sympathizers existed within her administrative cabinet and would need to be removed.^[3]
