"I guess Druckenwell's gone, too?"
"And Falleen. They've reached Rodia. It's the heavy end of the hammer, pounding and pounding."
Jacen Solo and Jaina Solo[1]

A battle was fought during the Yuuzhan Vong War in 26 ABY on Druckenwell. During their campaign to cut off the Corellian Run, Druckenwell was among the conquered worlds including Kalarba, Falleen and Rodia. While a certain percentage of the population was evacuated aboard starships, those left behind were tasked with dismantling Druckenwell's cities and using arable land to grow Yuuzhan Vong foodstuffs.

History

Invasion

"As you see, our hyperspace probes are returning limited information. Kalarba, Druckenwell, and Falleen are lost. Even if we could retain Rodia, the Corellian Run is cut."
Ayddar Nylykerka[1]

In 25 ABY, the extra-galactic race of invaders, the Yuuzhan Vong, launched a massive conquest campaign directed against all worlds of the Galactic community.[7] Less than a year later,[8] in an attempt to cut off the Rimward leg of the Corellian Run, a vital hyperspace route,[1] the Yuuzhan Vong initiated a blitz across the Doldur sector[3] and devastated Kalarba. The isolated worlds along the Corellian Run toward the Outer Rim Territories went on full alert as the Yuuzhan Vong captured them one after another.[1]

Druckenwell was an industrialized, overpopulated urban world – a symbol of everything the Yuuzhan Vong found abominable about the civilizations inhabiting their «promised» worlds. The massive corporations that had served as the true authority on the planet mounted no resistance, which was fortunate; faced with opposition, the invasion fleet might have cleansed the world of all life and technology. Instead, the population shifted its efforts from toiling for corporate profits to laboring for the greater glory of the Yuuzhan Vong. Their first two assignments were to prepare proper fields for food production[2] and other resources[9] and to dismantle the congested metropolises in which they had once lived.[2] While the planets Druckenwell and Falleen were captured by the invaders, the planet Rodia was placed in a vulnerable position.[1]

Aftermath

"There is no failure, only glorious success or a glorious death."
―Commander Malik Carr, to Yuuzhan Vong commandos[6]

Yuuzhan Vong commandos are trying to capture the «Jedi»

Prisoners captured in the battle for the planet Druckenwell revealed that there might have been a Jedi hiding aboard the converted freighter Chilastra, which was part of the refugee fleet attempting to leave the Druckenwell system. The Yuuzhan Vong were intensely curious about the Jedi, whom they regarded as a threat to their otherwise inevitable conquest. Previous attempts to capture or convert Jedi had failed, and this time the Yuuzhan Vong were determined not to miss a new opportunity. For this mission, Commander Malik Carr personally assembled a group of elite commandos and ordered them to capture the suspected Jedi. Using a captured Republic shuttle, the commandos boarded the refugee freighter Chilastra, which was hiding among the asteroids of the Druckenwell system. Once aboard – by any means necessary – they were to capture the possible Jedi known as Ka-Tu-Un and return him to the Yuuzhan Vong fleet in orbit over Druckenwell.[6]
