Barancar was a planet located within the Tion Cluster. It was a part of the Kingdom of Cron, and was eventually conquered by Xer VIII. It was the site of numerous shipyards under Xim's Empire,[3] which were used construct starships.[4] By the Imperial Era, however, millennia of war and decay had left most of the yards derelict, but fitful industry still struggled along. Many of the ancient docks had become the lairs of smugglers and outlaws.[3] Many millennia after Xim's reign, the historian Bleys Harand described the remains of the shipyards in his work of literature Travels Amid Strange Stars, which described his search for a contemporary depiction of Xim. All that remained of the shipyards by this time however, were coils of steel which had been darkened in color due to irradiation, and were covered in markings from micrometeorite strikes.[4]
