A BT-2X charge controller was a blaster component that allowed for a controlled overcharge of power cells.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] the possession of a charge controller was a crime in the Galactic Empire. A group of slicers had stored a BT-2X charge controller at a hideout in the South Jundland Wastes region of the desert planet Tatooine.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess heard about the BT-2X charge controller at the slicer's hideout. She later visited the hideout, recovered and used the charge controller to upgrade her VM-19 heavy blaster pistol's power module.[1]
Behind the scenes
A BT-2X charge controller appeared as an upgrade item in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The player must obtain the charge controller in order upgrade their blaser's bolt power module to level four.[1]
