- "The Mantra was many things: a glimpse into the Ascendant's culture…a celebration of their values…and perhaps, a map to their greatest treasure, the Spark Eternal."
- ―Iglan'tine Nos, to her class
The Ascendant's Mantra was a mantra in ur-Kittât[1] spoken by the Ascendant, a cult who sought to replicate the effects of the dark side of the Force. During their time as a student at the University of Bar'leth, Kho Phon Farrus studied the Ascendant and, according to Sava Iglan'tine Nos, had the best student translation of the mantra in her class.[2] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[3] Farrus returned to the university in search of the Spark Eternal, an artifact of the Ascendant, and in order to find it believed they needed to recover the Unyielding Heart in order to complete the Ascendant's Mantra. As Nos led Farrus to the Unyielding Heart, she had Farrus recite their interpretation of the mantra. After Farrus had spoken their translation, the sava asked what it meant, to which Farrus responded that it was instructions for a ritual. Farrus then questioned if it was like a spell to summon the Spark Eternal.[2]
