Armored computer cores were specialized memory banks designed to protect information from starship crashes. They used laminanium-plating, redundant backups, and sometimes ejection fail-safes to protect the information stored within them. They were practically indistinguishable from debris, and were used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic to protect astrogation data, ship activity records, and mission logs. They typically cost 1,100 credits on the market and notable models included the Astralor Corp. "Black Hole Box" T-11 Armored Databank and the Loronar Corporation "Sole Survivor" Backup Computer Core.[1]
