The arbalest was a projectile weapon[1] typically carried by the militiagungs of the Gungan Grand Army[2] on the planet Naboo. The Gungan General Tobler Ceel established a training center in the Scrumma Jawbone, an arm of Lake Paonga, where militiagungs could practice with arbalests alongside other weapons such as the cesta and atlatl.[1]

Arbalests were first mentioned in The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, a reference book by W. Haden Blackman published in 2004.[1]
