"There's however some areas that we don't like to see defiled by anyone, namely our gravesites. That's why I check up on them now and then and listen carefully for rumors about someone planning a trip out to them."
Omkoo, to a spacer[1]

An Aqualish gravesite was built on Talus long before the Galactic Civil War. By the time of the Battle of Yavin, it was one of the oldest Aqualish gravesites on Talus. Although the Aqualish did not care about their ancient buildings, mostly in ruins, they always preserved their old gravesites.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] the Aqualish Omkoo was concerned by rumors of thugs vandalizing Aqualish gravesites.[1] As the local Federation of the Double Worlds authorities seemed indifferent to this situation,[3] the Aqualish hired a spacer to investigate and stop disturbing the graves. However, the spacer did not find thugs at the Aqualish gravesite but paramilitary forces of the Tralus and Talus Liberation Party,[1] a group fighting for the independence of the Twin Worlds from the Corellian system.[4] The spacer killed the soldiers plundering the ruins but the TTLP had already shipped off some artifacts. The adventurer then visited the Nashal Starport and a Rebel weapons depot where all stolen artifacts were finally retrieved.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Aqualish gravesite was a location in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] The Aqualish gravesite was added to the game with the quest "Grave Robbers" released with the "Publish 21," on August 4, 2005.[6]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
