Golan Arms' DF.9 anti-infantry turret, commonly used by the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War
Anti-Infantry Turrets, also known as anti-infantry batteries,[1] and anti-personnel turrets,[2] were ground-based laser cannons. They employed precision targeting computers to aim at enemy infantry formations and support equipment. High-energy blaster bolts were then fired from the cannons, inflicting casualties and destroying materiel.[1]
Models
Several different models of Anti-Infantry Turret were in used during the Galactic Civil War. Taim & Bak manufactured the Bp.2 anti-infantry turret, which was commonly used by the Imperial Army during the Galactic Civil War.[3] Golan Arms produced the DF.9, a turret famously used in the Battle of Hoth by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and the Twin DF.9, a more powerful, faster-firing model similar to the DF.9 but with two cannons.[1]
