Anakin's battalion[1] was a battalion of the 501st Legion[6] that participated in the Battle of Umbara during the Clone Wars under Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. The battalion consisted of multiple platoons of standard clone troopers along with a large contingent of Advanced Recon Force troopers on AT-RT walkers. Clone Captain Rex served as Skywalker's first-in-command, while ARC trooper Fives assist Skywalker's battalion on special assignment. Others included Clone Sergeant Appo[1] and a Clone Commander.[2]

Anakin's battalion was a Grand Army of the Republic infantry and cavalry battalion of the 501st Legion, under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Clone Captain Rex,[1] with further officers including a Clone Commander[2] and Clone Sergeant Appo.[3] Despite the presence of that commander,[2] it was Rex who served as Skywalker's first-in-command. During the Battle of Umbara, it was temporarily commanded by Jedi General Pong Krell, and Advanced Recon Commando Fives was assigned to the battalion.[1]
Unlike other 501st Legion color schemes,[7] some members of this battalion had a blue, thick, vertical line on their helmet up to their visors,[1] while in other armor sets the line descended to the bottom of the helmet.[7] The battalion was composed of clone troopers that were divided into multiple platoons, and was supplemented by dozens of Advanced Recon Force troopers on All Terrain Reconnaissance Transports.[1]
