Amar,[3] also known as Amara,[4] was the homeworld of the Amaran species in the Amar system.
History
As of the New Republic's reign, the native Amaran had a colony on Naboo, where they found jobs as merchants and salesbeings.[3]
Behind the scenes
Amar was originally first mentioned in 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[3] A comment by Daniel Wallace, one of the co-authors of the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, on the Jedi Council Forums of TheForce.net later revealed that Amar was considered to be the same as "Amara"[5] that had previously been mentioned in the article "The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life: The Marvel Series," which was written by Rich Handley and Joe Bongiorno and published in[4] the November 2000[6] first issue of the Star Wars Gamer magazine.[4]
