The Altirian Republic was a country on the eastern continent of the planet Altiria/Anarris, as well as a number of surrounding island chains. The majority of the world's Altiri inhabitants were members of the republic and the government's primary goal was to develop the Altiri into the planet's most advanced society. The republic also maintained a large military to wage war against the Altiri's rivals—the Anarrians.
