The Altano Trade Route was a hyperspace route.[1] At some point between 4 and 5 ABY,[2] a human and a Weequay criminal made plans to ambush Imperial convoys at a point along the trade route while they were drinking at the castle of the pirate Maz Kanata on the planet Takodana.[1]
