Air brakes were components that helped to slow down speeder bikes[1] and podracers. Better air brakes were used to decrease the amount of time to slow a podracer down, although the brakes were best used to slow the vehicle down for taking sharp turns, as opposed to coming to a complete stop. The Toydarian parts dealer Watto sold air brakes for truguts.
