The agitators played a key role in the Rebellion by challenging public perception and inciting action against the Empire. Many had once served the Empire but left after witnessing its atrocities firsthand. Whether their disillusionment came early or after years of silence, it shaped their unwavering pursuit of justice.[1]
Unlike advocates, who worked within systems, agitators stirred emotions through bold demonstrations and impassioned speeches. Some rose from humble beginnings, organizing labor movements and gaining influence through charisma and collective bargaining. Others blended protest with performance, using art, music, or graffiti to inspire resistance. Their creativity and zeal made them powerful voices within the Rebel Alliance, rallying the oppressed and aiding fellow Rebels in the fight for freedom.[1]
Behind the scenes
Agitator was first mentioned in Desperate Allies, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Star Wars Roleplaying series that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2015.[1]
