Affytechan

Affytechans were a species of tall, bipedal sentient plants native to Dom-Bradden, in the Outer Rim of the galaxy.

Biology and appearance

Each Affytechan had a unique growth of leaves, petals, tassels, and tendrils that sprouted from their bodies in a vast range of colors. Otherwise humanoid, they were bipedal with talon-like hands and extraordinarily malleable minds and personalities that changed rapidly to match their cultural environment. Their pollen was noxious to the human nostril. They reproduced by slaughtering and dismembering other members of the species and then watering them, after which sprouts would grow from the corpses and mature to adulthood within a few days. Their standard body temperature was 83 degrees.

History

A number of Affytechans were abducted by the Eye of Palpatine and brainwashed into believing themselves Imperial naval crewmen of the vessel, consulting blank computer screens and carrying brooms and mops as blasters. These included Breen, who believed himself an Imperial medic and was recruited by Luke Skywalker to locate transports off the Eye.
