Adjutant General was a military rank used by the Armed Forces of the Galactic Republic. Less than a year after his promotion to admiral, Wilhuff Tarkin was promoted to Adjutant General following his investigation of the bombing of the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars. This allowed him to serve as a prosecutor in the trial of Ahsoka Tano. The rank of adjutant general encompassed both the Grand Army of the Republic[2] and the Republic Navy.[3]
