Accelerator shield

Accelerator shields were a class of shield used on the garbage pits of the Core Worlds planet Coruscant. There were 5,000 such pits spread across the planet, each of which was covered by four convex accelerator shields. The shields were perforated with hundreds of holes, each 10 meters in diameter, through which garbage was periodically fired into space.^[1]
