The AH 1701 gyrocomputer was a model of gyrocomputer that was manufactured by the Incom Corporation and used by Corellian Engineering Corporation's YT-1300 light freighters, in conjunction with their Rubicon navicomputer. Considered to be one of the best in the galactic market, the AH 1701 was used to determine the starship's position in the three-dimensional plane using three control momentum gyroscopes as well as telemetry data from a number of positioning beacons.[1]
Despite its success, the collaboration between Incom and CEC was criticized by many as a questionable sub-contract that merely increased the fortune of the companies' executives.[1]
Behind the scenes
The AH 1701 gyrocomputer was first mentioned in the 25th issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, which was published in June 24, 2015.[1]
