The A-9x thrust engine was a powerful starfighter engine manufactured by KuatDriveSystems. A pair of the engines were used on the A-9 Vigilance interceptor. Each engine was as long as the A-9 Vigilance's spaceframe and had its own, self-contained power generator. The A-9x units on an A-9 Vigilance were capable of propelling the fighter to velocities greater than that of a TIE interceptor and on par with an RZ-1 A-wing interceptor.[1]
