The 5th Assault Battalion was a military unit of the army of the Galactic Republic during the Galactic War. During the battle of the Republic prison world Belsavis, they were deployed to the planet's Section X area to fight off the attacking Dread Host forces of the Dread Masters.
Behind the scenes
The 5th Assault Battalion appeared in Game Update 1.7 of of the BioWare-LucasArts 2011 video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Along with several other organizations, the unit appeared as part of the game's new Galactic Reputation system. Republic faction player characters could increase their reputation with the unit by completing missions in the Section X dailies area. The Imperial Guard on Belsavis was the organization available to Imperial faction player characters.[2]
