57 was one of the six rookie clones, the others being 16, 18, 23, 35 and 44, sent from Kamino that was selected for a special mission to Ando Prime to investigate the disappearance of the 313th Legion and its leader, Jedi General Po Bandis. He was a medic who had been patching Vargus up, which earned him the nickname "Patch".[2]
