3rd Brigade

The 3rd Brigade was a brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic. The 3rd Brigade's Hawkbat Battalion fought in numerous engagements at the start of the Clone Wars, a pan-galactic conflict between the Galactic Republic and Separatist Alliance. The battalion was originally led by various Jedi Generals including Kit Fisto, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Even Piell, Anakin Skywalker, Saesee Tiin, Mace Windu, and Yoda.

Description

The 3rd Brigade was a brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic. The brigade's subordinate unit, the Hawkbat Battalion,^[1] was also part of the 101st Regiment.^[2] The battalion and the 3rd Brigade were organized under^[3] the 327th Star Corps'^[2] 7th Legion.^[3]

History

The 3rd Brigade's Hawkbat Battalion fought in numerous battles early in the Clone Wars.^[1] Such battles included the First Battle of Geonosis,^[2] which marked the start of the pan-galactic conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance,^[4] as well as a subsequent engagement in a rainy terrestrial object.^[1]

Behind the scenes

THe 3rd Brigade first appeared in "Chapter 1" of the micro-animated television series Star Wars: Clone Wars that released on November 7, 2003^[5] through its sub-unit, Hawkbat Battalion. The parent organization was identified in the 2019 bust for a Hawkbat Battalion character from Gentle Giant Studios.^[1]
