The 3-MAL secure comlink was a type of versatile comlink system squeezed into a tiny, pill-shaped package. Popular among the Alliance to Restore the Republic, the 3-MAL offered military-grade encryption and scanned civil defense, emergency services, and law enforcement frequencies. Like most comlinks on the market, the 3-MAL could easily synchronize with properly equipped droids, computers, sensors, and cyborgs, and it could transmit through voice or data. The cost of the 3-MAL secure comlink was 250 credits.[1]
Behind the scenes
The 3-MAL secure comlink was first mentioned in Forged in Battle,[2] a 2016 sourcebook for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[3]
