The 242X was a model of augmented spin barrel available during the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic following the Battle of Yavin. Produced by Dolmax, the attachment could only be used with blaster rifles or heavy blaster rifles and was sold for 1750 credits. The barrel gave greater damage output and armor penetration but meant the barrel and frame of the weapon were under more stress.[1]
