The 220-SIG Tactical Combat Jammer was a model of sensor jammer manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards.
Description
220-SIG Tactical Combat Jammers were large units that were considered to be the most powerful sensor jammers ever built, topped with a directional dish that allowed the unit to concentrate on specific vectors creating narrow zones of interference. This allowed sensor arrays to continue functioning normally and continue to gather data.[1]
History
Hundreds of 220-SIG Tactical Combat Jammers were present on the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin, forcing Rebel pilots to visually scan their targets from within the cockpit.[1]
220-SIGs were also installed on the Death Star II, and blinded Alliance sensors to the fact that the battle station's deflector shield was operational. It also prevented the Alliance Fleet from detecting the force of Star Destroyers laying in wait for them during the Battle of Endor.[1]
