It is....... decent?
This movie is not exactly a revered movie compared to the rest of the saga. The CGI and the best written and developed romance ever to grace the silver screen (JOKING) are what I see as the biggest problems many people have.
So I'll give my (spoilers pretty controversial) opinion on it.
The CGI is bad. however, like I said in my retrospective of ROTS, I play old video games so I don't go to stuff expecting good visuals. that is not on my top priority list. But I can understand if you hate them.
The dialogue is.. fine. probably a tad over hated. George Lucas does not know how to write romance. At all. (Sand...)
However there is a lot I like. there is a conversation between padme and Anakin where they are talking about a democracy versus a autocracy in terms of effectiveness, and as a nerd who passionately enjoys geopolitics, I liked it!
However my favorite thing in this movie is the score. HOLY MOLY. John Williams knocked it out of the fricken state with this one. He learned a lot from phantom menace and the music during the Anakin/Padme scenes are beautifully scored.
So in conclusion, I liked this movie. It is nowhere near the top but it is slightly underrated.
