You deserve a gold star for making a well written, well-thought-out essay on why you did not like the sequels instead of making a post with one or two sentences saying, "I hate the Sequels!".
Depends on what context.
When including him in a list of Sith who bear the title of Darth or when including him with the Sith in general, I refer to him as Darth Sidious.
When referring to him as the ruler of the First Galactic Empire or as an abstract person who almost nobody really knows about due to secrecy but are willing to die for, I refer to him as the Emperor.
When referring to him in the realm of memes, fun, and goofiness, I refer to him as the Senate.
I never call him "my lord."
In all other cases, I call him Palpatine.
I kind of wish there were other options between the two extremes.
^I honestly hope he makes it to 100 and have good health.
I also hope he comes back to Star Wars one last time and create a film / trilogy / series as a treat for us fans.
Why the heck is Luke even an option?
If Luke ever gets a love interest, it should be Mara Jade, or nobody at all.
I stick to the main canon, but I incorporate aspects of Legends (in particular the two KOTOR games, SWTOR, and the Legacy comics) into my thinking as well as using Legends to expand my understanding of lore behind planets, people, events, species, etc. that only get a brief mention in a canon work.
That was a much better trailer than the last one.
I feel as if the trailer for the video game Eclipse did a far better job capturing my attention for a High Republic project than did this trailer, but I'm willing to give the series a chance.
^^^^^ Look, there are many things I don't agree with him/her/they especially concerning the PT, the ST, and Legends. That said, accusing any user of certain things is just asking for the mods to step in and give out penalties.
If I or almost anyone else have found out that Stalin, Hitler, Lenin, Zedong, Pol Pot, or any other evil person in history was our father, in addition to losing a hand in an exchange with them simultaneously, I highly doubt any of us would take it like a statue and hold back the tears.
I also take some issue with "Killing his own dad because a man with a testicle head told him that's how to be powerful." In addition to being a grammatical error (a fragment), you seem to make it look like one of a character's problem is listening to a character who looks weird. By that logic, was Luke in the wrong for talking to the love child of Kermit the Frog and Ms. Piggy (Yoda)? Was Ahsoka in the wrong for mentoring under someone who has an upside-down fried chicken for a head (Plo Koon)?
Also, someone made a post not that long ago if swearing is allowed, to which the mods said no. In other words, that F bomb should really be removed. This site is trying to stay PG-13 as well.
Does Star Wars: The Old Republic count? That game is Legends, however, it still receives expansions (howbeit not very large or expansive) and updates that introduces new things into that game (and the greater Legends continuity). In fact, some Canon things have made their way into Legends by way of SWTOR.
Personally, I think that is a plot hole in the Phantom Menace.
I really enjoyed the film, but it has its problems.
I completely agree with you that the Yuuzhan Vong are just too gritty and edgy for Star Wars.
I do not care for the Sequel Trilogy, but even I have to admit that the ST felt far more like actual Star Wars than the Vong.
I'm guessing it's the Muun Dark Lord of the Sith who we enjoy and love.
It wouldn't be the first time Disney brought a Sith Lord back from the dead to face off against Rey.
However, like what it says, it seems that that rumor has been discarded in favor of something far less "What the [insert a word you feel like inserting]!?".
According to WDW Pro, one of the possible plot points for the new film is as follows:
“So there are two iterations of the Rey script that I am aware of that I can talk about according to rumor. And those are apparently early on in development the idea was that Rey would be pregnant with a child and that offscreen she would have become pregnant somehow through the Force ghost of Kylo Ren in a way that would have been explained but not presented on screen. They could not have Rey be pregnant with any other any other person than Kylo Ren and that was to placate the Reylo fans fans out there and then the story was going to push forward to when her child was about nine years old, a daughter. And that daughter was going to be training in the New Jedi Temple with Rey and with the other Padawans. That this nine-year-old daughter was going to combine the light and the dark and form a new type of Jedi.”
He continued, “And then they were going to face off against … is it Darth Plagueis… Well, apparently he was going to be back. And so that was the first iteration of the script.”
It seems that the above was discarded in favor of another rumor.
WDW Pro stated, “[This rumor] involved Rey and Finn fighting against a villain, a new villain, who was a combination of a Nightsister and a Sith. So a Sith who had learned to take on the powers of the Nightsisters and combined the Force with the magic of the witches. And that Rey and Finn would be combined together to take on that foe.”
I honestly think this film will go in the way of the ten or fifteen announced films that have been scrapped by Lucasfilms.
TBH, I like this film more than the Last Jedi.
There is quite a number of Force users who only have one-word names as opposed to a first and last name.
Yoda is a famous example.
Yaddle is another.
Revan is another great example.
Tenebrae of the reconstituted Sith Empire (and it's not like the Sith species do not have first and last names [e.g. Naga Sadow, Marka Ragnos, Ludo Kressh]. Even as Emperor of the Eternal Empire of Zakuul, Tenebrae (as Valkorion) did not bother with a last name.
Palpatine in Legends.
Even Grogu from recent times.
To quote @J Fan
"... but there is something to be said that a single name or alias makes the characters more mysterious and arguably more interesting."
Arguably every one of the above that I listed had that element of intrigue (good or bad) to them, which is reinforced by having only one-word names.
Maul, Talzin, and Dooku are simply more intriguing characters to add to the list of people with only one-word names.
Have to go with "I don't like sand." I bet that that line is more famous than even some well written and meaningful romantic lines from extremely good romance films.
I think one of the reasons why the PT is now rather loved is because of the ST itself. In my opinion, if Disney made another sequel trilogy to the ST that is somehow even worse (or probably even mediocre), than the ST would become well regarded while the ST to the ST would receive the hate that the ST we have now is getting right now.
If the ST to the ST is better (created by someone who knows what they are doing and/or has the knack to make good Star Wars content), than the current ST will still be seen as the worst SW trilogy.
Actually, now that I think about it, the scene where the Ewoks were about to cook up Han Solo was kind of unsettling to me when I was younger.
NGL, I feel like the Clone Wars series had scarier scenes than the actual films.
