If there's one thing SW lacks regarding "representation" is the Xenos... I mean, aliens. Every main character is a human, every movie is about humans, 99% of villains are humans.
For a universe supposedly filled with all kinds of xen... aliens, they seem to be pretty underrepresented.
Back to Finn, decent concept, horrible execution. He's useless in every possible way. He could have been a battle hardened veteran stormtrooper that helped Rey and the others and had a different view of the galaxy, yet all we got is a cry baby that couldn't hack it as a Trooper and whose only role was crying about Rey.
Vitiate was hinted at a few times before SWTOR, however, it was the SWTOR writers that really expanded his story
Rogue One is leagues better than the rest.
Only one has the massacre of children... Although, I guess blowing up a planet also counts
Great ending for a great show, this proves that you don't need Jedi/Sith to have a great Star Wars story.
About all the rules in Yavin, well, it's understandable, had they not been this careful, they would have been found out pretty quickly by the Empire. I've never cared for the rebels even after watching all Star Wars media there is, I'm more into the Bounty Hunting, Piracy side of Star Wars but this show does a great job at making you sympathize with the rebels and making you want to join the Rebellion.
I was skeptic at them making a show around a guy whose early death we all saw, (it's not like he lived into his 60's) but they managed to do a decent job with both Andor and all the characters they made for this show. They also did a great job with Mon Mothma
Best Star Wars show so far
I found Syril pretty annoying
I just realized how bad my grammar was but anyway, I won't get into it since it's a "sensitive" issue for some people.
As I said, I loved both Bix and Mothma in the show, Bix also has some incredible character development so I hope to see her soon in other works.
I'm still surprised by the lack of Aliens but here's my takes:
Still the best show in Star Wars just like Rogue One remains the best SW movie
Episode Nine was the best so far.
I never cared for Mothma (nor the Rebels) but this show made me like her for the 1st time
I love how they made it clear that she is not a warrior by her reaction to Andor's actions. I always saw her as another politician trying to get back in power but this show made her look pretty good.
As I said, barely any Aliens, I understand they are on a budget but come on!
We see how K-2SO joined the rebels
Some people might not like this BUT Bix and Mothma is how you write strong female characters. There's no need to make them act like a man, you can have great feminine characters like them without the need to make the men look weak, I would even say they were some of the best we have seen in a Star Wars show
Bossk is highly underrated. Although to be fair, his Legends depiction is better than what we've gotten so far of him. He was also my main in Battlefront 2
I would make Oola survive, I always liked her.
Enjoyable episode. I love that Jod is finally acting like a pirate. The force part I'm not really interested in, probably a Jedi kid lost in space like stated above. My favorite character so far has to be Pokkit, that Bounty Hunter looked incredible.
I always found it weird how 99% of the main characters in Star Wars are human, look at this show, 5 main characters not counting the droid, 4 of them human. The same with every other SW show.
Also, for an "adults only" resort that does not allow children, it seems to lack "adult" activities. Then again, this is Disney.
Pretty boring episode, only the last 5 minutes were relevant, the rest is filler. KB remains the only likeable kid, Wym is still insanely annoying, Fern is at least tolerable, and Neel is too naive.
Despite this episode, this remains a decent show, at least compared to something as bad as Acolyte. I'm sure it will get better from now on.
"I’ve already seen some suggest that his former captain might now be the Supervisor."
That's an interesting theory, I guess we'll know soon.
Leonia Tavira
From poverty to Moff, from Moff to one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful pirate in the Galaxy. She can also be used to introduced another organization of Force users, the Jensaarai, which Tavira used efficiently. She also promoted people based on merit, something rarely seen in Star Wars.
^Thrawn's motivation was stopping the Yuuzhan Vong. Coming from the militarized Chiss Ascendancy, he believed that a organized, militarized force like the Empire was the best way to stop such a threat.
He was ambitious, yes, ruthless, yes, but not evil.
"The Mandalorians being pacifists, goes completely against what makes them Mandalorians"
I could not agree more with this statement. Disney Mandalorians are boring, there's nothing intimidating about them, they are not a threat to anybody. Shae Vizla would be ashamed of what this great culture turned into.
I always wanted to see more of Oola
KB remains the only likeable kid; she's really growing on me. Silvo finally admits that he's no Jedi, but we all knew that. Love the robot and how he kept calling Silvo a "Jedi" sarcastically. I have never been a fan of SW robots except for SCORPIO but this pirate one is also growing on me.
I am genuinely surprised. I did not expect the show to be as good as it's been.
I will start by admitting that I hate shows with children as the main characters, still, I decided to give this one a go.
I'm impressed. Pirate lore is something Star Wars shows tend to throw aside and it's never done well, the so called "pirate king" in the Mandalorian was laughable and a disappointment. So far, I'm loving the depiction of pirates here.
The main kid (Wim) is extremely annoying, the rest are tolerable but Wim? I guess being annoying will be his thing.
KB is the most tolerable kid, maybe even likeable.
The beginning reminded me a bit of the beginning of my favorite show, Black Sails. A captain struggling to remain a captain due to a lack of successful raids. That moment, the show had me hooked. Unfortunately, the rest of the episode followed an annoying kid.
After Acolyte, this seems to be a massive improvement, then again, the Acolyte set the bar pretty low, it's like they purposedly made a terrible show so that everything else would look good.
In summary, So far, so good. Need more beards though, these are pirates after all.
I would say Kreia, then Revan, then Qui-Gon, then a few others (Satele, Malgus and Marr for example), then Meetra, then a few others (Nox and Bane for example), then a lot of others, and then Ahsoka, Momin, etc.
