We finally get to the final book. This one was by far my favorite and every piece was amazing. If you can get it I highly recommend adding it to your collection.
Coruscant
This book features some cool ground battles on Corscant that didn't make it into the movie. I would have loved to see some of these shots in the final product.
The Droid Attack on the Wookies
There were a number of beautiful battle and architecture scenes to chose from but theses were my favorite.
I really like these two of the Wookies because it shows both the epic furiosity of them in battle and the mournfulness of their casulties.
I really love how this tree architecture is dipicted.
Here we have a design for a young Han Solo. I really like the concept that he was raised by Wookies but I'm ultimately glad it was kept out of the movie because it would have retconned the Han Solo Trilogy.
As far as I saw this is the only piece featuring anything to do with order 66. It show yoda hiding from the clones.
Mustafar
This is one of seven very early planet concepts created in 2002. The planet was originally called Mufasta
Grievous
In November 2002 George shared his idea for what would later become Grievous. He told them to draw a droid or alien general and he got many designs back but none were quite what he was looking for.
It wasn't until December that he got what would later become what we know today.
I really like this more upright and plated design. It leans much more into the idea that he is a fearsome and battle hardened general.
This may be my favorite piece in the book.
Anakin and Padme
These are early concepts for their appearances.
I really like these because they show just how much they care for each other. The first page is in their home and the second is Padme's garden on Naboo.
In this bottom drawing Padme decides she must kill Anakin for what he has done and confronts him on Mustafar. I wish this was left in the movie because it could have shown how painful this decision was for her and it would make a very emotional scene.
We finally have her funeral. Both of these artworks are very beautiful and evoke the sadness of the event.
Their were many more amazing works in this book and I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself. If you do have it I would love for you to share your favorite piece from the book.
