I've been seeing lots of hate for it recently, and this honestly just has me confused. It wasn't a great show, but it wasn't bad. I didn't dislike it. I'd give it a C+. It was definitely missing something, and the plot wasn't super interesting, but like I said, it wasn't bad in my opinion.

Honestly, the Canon scene where he gets killed is one of the reasons I put Rebels almost on-par with clone wars.

Yeah, the plot definitely left something to be desired, but I still don't think it was necessarily "bad".

Neither had good first seasons, but by far rebels had the better one compared to TCW. Tis result is very surprising honestly.

Duel of the fates has the best music, no question, but personally, I'm more of a Yoda vs. Senate in Senate kinda guy.

I guess part of me just kinda assumed the empire had more troopers off screen, seeing as this is the shield generator for their quintillions of dollars super weapon. But you are right that it is more or less reasonable if the only Stormtroopers there are the ones we see plus a couple.

You guys all have fair points about the EU and all that. I'll just add that even though I barely touched on it before, I think another big part of it is that they are almost the only imperial soldiers even shown in the OG Trilogy. As you said, they are technically only being used for the most top priority missions, but it just so happens that the OG Trilogy is only about the biggest battles, and as an unintended result, Stormtroopers come of as the empires go to infantry.

I did a little digging, and here's what I think. If you just type in, "The Freemakers" Into Wookieepedia, it comes up with an article about the family that is canon, so I think that some of the characters are canon, but we only know that they existed, and the events of the show are non-canon.
Recently, I've been thinking about the Obi-Wan line from A New Hope where he says, "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are this precise," and it got me thinking. It is clear that George Lucas originally intended for stormtroopers to be highly trained imperial warriors and not line infantry and cannon fodder that we see today, so I wondered how it got to this point. I have a theory though. Firstly, beyond that Obi-Wan quote, Imperial Stormtroopers take some inspiration from the German WW2 Stormtroopers, which were an elite, highly trained fighting force. So here's my theory. George Lucas sets out to make a more advanced line of soldiers, but the original campiness of Star Wars gets in the way. Stormtroopers are seen being killed in the dozens, hitting their heads on doorframes, and just generally being pretty stupid, and on top of that, they are just about the only Imperial troops seen in the movies, so the audience mistakes them for basic recruits, and George has to pivot. Just an Idea. Tell me what you think!

That also raises a few questions about if their really doing any good. If throughout an ENTIRE GALAXY they could only recruit realistically a couple thousand people, then they are definitely in the minority, and fighting against an empire that is actually widely popular. Just a Thought.

I was kind of surprised by this, until I remembered that maybe not everyone lives in southern California like me. Anyways, if you haven't maybe not worth a whole trip, but if given the opportunity to go to the area, this should be #1 on your vacation to-do list. And yes, it is worth it to wait 3-4 hours for "Rise of the Resistance". I didn't agree at first, but then I went on it . Just trust me.

I was originally super hyped for this show, seeing as how I love high republic, but then the trailer dropped, and now I just don't know what to think. Maybe they'll hear all the bad feedback about the trailer and maybe change some stuff, but it's probably too late to do that. Or maybe it was just a bad trailer. The plot that go shown in the trailer just seems like something too little for it's own show. Maybe a book, but not a show. I thought this would tie in to the high Republic books more too, but I guess not. Oh, Well.
