"Rebel Alliance" is more generally used.
But "Rebellion" as in "You know about the Rebellion against the Empire?", stands also.

Today would have been the sixty-ninth birthday of actress and author, Carrie Fisher.
She is known for portraying Princess Leia Organa one of The leaders of The Rebel Alliance
in 1977's Star Wars Episode IV- A New Hope, 1980's Star Wars Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back and then in 1983's Star Wars Episode VI- Return of The Jedi.
Thirty- two years later, she reprised her most famous role of now General Leia Organa, one of the leaders of The Resistance in 2015's Star Wars Episode VII- The Force Awakens, 2017's Star Wars Episode VIII- The Last Jedi and finally three years after her unexpected death, with unused footage and the permission of her family in 2019's Star Wars Episode- IX The Rise of Skywalker.
Her witt and wisdom is sorely missed.

On June 1, 1977, my mom, me, her (then) best friend and her children were supposed to go on a picnic BUT the weather wasn't cooperating.
The other kids wanted to see a new movie that came out a week before.
So we drove through the rain to our local mall's movie theater, purchased tickets, popcorn, candy and sodas, and sat down in a somewhat empty theater.
Hours later I was mesmerized by what I saw.
.When I came out of the theater, my life was changed forever and I'm happier for it!
Today is the birthday of actor Joonas Suotamo, who took over the role of the Wookie Warrior and everyone's favorite " Big Walking Carpet" Chewbacca from the late great Peter Mayhew!
Joonas was Peter's double in 2015's Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens and then took over the role in 2017's Star Wars Episode VIII- The Last Jedi.
He has also played "Chewie" in 2018's Solo - A Star Wars Story and 2019's Star Wars Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker.

I've wanted an X- Wing since 1977.
Today is the birthday of actor Denis Lawson, who portrayed Rebel Alliance pilot Wedge Antilles in The Star Wars Galaxy.
Not only does Denis have a special place in The Star Wars Galaxy as the second greatest X-Wing pilot in the Rebel fleet.
He's also the uncle of Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, actor Ewan McGregor.

He is known in the Star Wars Galaxy for portraying "The Client" in the first season of the hit Disney+ series, "The Mandalorian".
It was Herzog who suggested that Gogru (The Child, as known in the series or Baby Yoda, as known to the masses), be a practical effect and not computer generated.
