This man is one of the most authentically gifted actors of modern Hollywood. The choices he makes with all of his characters are just like... Wow. (Looking at you Marriage Story, LOL) As a theatrical actor myself, I often look to him when I need to find moments of anger or deep, ill emotions that I don't truly ascertain in my optimistic way of life. I adore his work and am most thrilled to see him in the upcoming film, House of Gucci. That film has a recipe of talent that almost confirms it for Academy Award nominations.

As for his role as Ben Solo, everything I said applies to this. The level of intensity he brings to the character is captivating throughout the Trilogy, and despite the slightly wonky writing given to him, he delivers a seamless performance to give a memorable and complex antagonist for the Sequels. I adore all the layers he brings forth, and he makes Ben seem more than just the stereotypical misunderstood son that turns evil like we've seen in storytelling for generations, including Star Wars.

Above all else, though, I send heartfelt wishes of a happy B-day and am grateful for his service!

Because of the way Disney has prioritized getting their "new Canon" content front and center, my attention has been fully on that in the last five or so years. I have spent so much time trying to find ways to enjoy their unique spin(s) on the saga, and while it has shocked me to my core time and time again, most of them really do function and coincide well with the Canon universe. In this, I've slightly forgotten a lot of the content that hasn't come from the Disney era, namely Legends. I explored it in my teenage years, and I haven't touched anything from the continuity in a long, long time; I frankly don't plan on going back to it anytime soon because the fresh content that is coming out now has so, so much potential to develop into something truly special, and I want to see that process above all else. That's why I consider myself an "Everything Canon" fan at this point. It is simply where my priorities are at as a fan.

One facet that I must acknowledge when asking myself this question is that Star Wars is very generational. If you grew up in the 80s, you are likely a larger fan of the Original Trilogy in comparison to the Disney Canon, for instance, though this is not always the case. I have a weird situation personally, as I was properly introduced to the saga in 2004 as a young child with a curious mind, but I really became invested by around 2008 - 2010, an awkward time where there wasn't anything on the horizon besides The Clone Wars and video games for fans of my younger age. So, ironically, I had to look at content from bygone eras to make my own modern-day experiences. Eras that seemed dated and irrelevant. That's why, when Disney "revived" the franchise, I was so extraordinarily ecstatic, just like most everyone else. I felt like it was my chance to make my own Star Wars memories instead of looking at other peoples' memories. My intense love for Star Wars wouldn't be shallow or one-sided anymore. And, as it turns out, that is exactly what happened. I now feel fully connected to the stories, as they are unfolding and expanding right at this moment where I can be a part of the franchise's history. That may have made no sense whatsoever, LOL, but essentially, I am an "All of it" fan at the end of the day, but I especially have an eye on the Canon material releasing nowadays.

Well, I must confess I originally was disappointed with this most recent episode of The High Republic Show, and I gave it one more shot by watching it once more; then, I realized how much I sincerely enjoyed it. The highlight is definitively the conversation with some of the initiative's editors. Seeing their perspective shed light again on just how passionate the people that are working on these novels and comics truly are, which is reassuring as a huge fan of the content that we're receiving as of now.

I still am somewhat dissatisfied as we got essentially no looks into the upcoming Wave releasing next year... Instead, we got concept art for Out of the Shadows characters... we already got concept art for, LOL. I would have loved more details about The Fallen Star, Eye of the Storm, etc. Nonetheless, the episode brought the same fun energy that I love, and I am excited for the January edition.

Well, I am torn on my opinions about this. You see, I personally find her great for Lucasfilm. She's kept the franchise going with a collection of people that smartly kept the fans excited and positive, for the most part. Yes, she has said some controversial [and some blatantly incorrect] things in the past, but I mean, we all make mistakes. It's not an excuse by any means, and I do wish she had listened a bit more to Lucas in the beginning, which we may hear more of in an rumored upcoming documentary series surrounding him. In the end, however, Star Wars wouldn't be where it is without her guidance, and there has been so much good that has come in the past few years for the saga. Her reputation, my friends, is undeniable. She has worked on seemingly endless large-scale projects that make her perfect for managing the ever-expanding galaxy of Star Wars. I know everyone's experiences and opinions are contrasting to one another, but this is where I stand as a fan.

However, the larger fanbase does not seem to appreciate or accept her orchestration as much as I do... which is a definite problem for me in return. I do want Disney/Lucasfilm to recognize the significance of their audience slightly more. Their lack of "reading the room" has caused ruckuses time and time again, impacting me personally. Kathleen Kennedy seems to be in the center of that, but I sincerely don't mean to point fingers; that gets no one anywhere, as people naturally never seem to comprehend. The next two to three years will decide her fate, for sure, and I personally am excited to see where she takes this franchise next. Nonetheless, I see that the fans are not in the same boat, which is concerning altogether. It's a difficult subject to discuss.

Yeah, just to jump in on the swearing conversation, I agree with Ajj in the sense that I find the Star Wars takes on cuss words hilarious and satisfying. For instance, in The High Republic mainline comic series, the protagonist, Keeve Trennis, will just randomly blurt out "Krif!" in quite tense and/or emotional moments. It always gets a chuckle from me, as her boisterous and teenage charm comes off really well with that. It's more fitting for sensitive audiences as well, so I think it should just stick with the more "in-universe" terminology instead of just casually dropping the F-word in primary entertainment. Star Wars is for everyone, and I feel as though that principality will be more authentic if inappropriate content like intimate love scenes and consistent cussing is left out in the movies and television series. Now, when the time calls for it in Adult Novels and such, I accept and appreciate it.

My pick ultimately went to using more horror themes, as Star Wars has always had those motifs in the back of the storytelling, never as the directive stylistic approach pushing the narrative forward. Seeing that flip-flop could be fun, and I also have a deep love for modern horror films like Hereditary, A Quiet Place, etc. I think the genre has never been a better place with stunning directors, writers, and actors who are genuinely passionate about it nowadays. Seeing them carry over their expertise to the classical Star Wars stories would get me hyped without a single doubt in my mind.

Hmm. For me, these are somewhat unexpected thoughts expressed so far. Anyway, as it is with every piece of major content for the saga, I'm endlessly enthralled by the ideas of both. Obi-Wan Kenobi is the one I anticipate the release of the most of, for the record. It will be the ultimate redeemer of McGregor's take on the character, if executed as brilliantly as I believe it will; personally, Sir Alec Guinness's original depiction is artistically masterful, and it is absolutely astounding that he stuck around despite not liking the writing for his character for all three films. I know fans essentially worship Ewan McGregor (and, to some extent, I can relate), but I just don't feel as connected to his character throughout the Prequels as I do within the Original Trilogy. Seeing McGregor bridge those two very distinct "versions" will be exciting to see, and there are so many routes to take from a storytelling perspective that I believe could function beautifully.

I love the symbolism points y'all made above!! Neat observations.

I still believe that it is such a memorable way to open the film. After that somewhat shallow, yet exciting Opening Crawl, it's lovely to see that energy immediately channeled in an unexpected environment. I also adore how brief it is. It sets up how fast-paced the scenes will pass by as the film persists.

I also love how, in the novelization, the scene unfolds from General Hux's cold and calculating position alongside Pryde in the beginning; then, we are transported to Ren's malicious battle on the surface. It put a unique spin on the moment that I found intriguing. The whole expansion of the Mustafarian barbarians with the Eye of the Webbish Bog spider creature was a great way to throw Kylo on his new journey as well. Above all, the clear parallels between Vader and Ren are set up and add weight to his entire arc of redemption in the novel. It's pure originality, which The Rise of Skywalker brought a hefty supply of in comparison to the previous two Sequels. I'd highly recommend the novelization; it brought such depth in places the film lacked in. New Leia and Rose stuff. Nailed the "You're a Palpatine," moment. Really, it is one of the better film novelizations in my opinion.

Oh, dear...

Well, sincerely hope you are aware of one thing, Giv: We all understand! Life is a constantly changing thing, which is something that I learn more and more of every day, but the cool thing about this magical place is that we can all come here, despite our hardships and such, and discuss the world's best franchise. It's comically (and beautifully) simplistic, as life's best things often are, but there are indeed times when we must merely move onward from amazing places, especially when other matters are more pivotal in the grand scheme of things.

While, of course, I did not get the chance to truly know you, to say that I've not recognized the insanely impressive impact you've had on the lives filling Wookieepedia is folly by all means. You have not only continued to enrich this place, you have shaped it so that it may persevere forevermore; and I'm just thankful to have the opportunity to see it right before my eyes. It's wonderful. Your legacy will, quite frankly, never be forgotten, my dearest friend. That's the bottom line.

As a relatively new user, I hope you know that my respect for you has literally no bounds, if that wasn't already clear enough. Moreover, I have the same sentimentality for all of the other Moderators we have here. Jesus, the things you all do for the rest of us... It's extraordinary. So, I know with all of my heart that the team and the rest of us common users will continue to coexist beautifully. I will do everything in my power to help with that, when possible.

I admittedly am sad to be seeing you go, Giv. Though, again, I understand that life is more important.

All good things must come to an end.

A rather tough one!! But, in the end, while it isn't my favorite, I must use this, as I find it to be underrated:

Yes, it is an odd pick; I'm aware, LOL. But, I've always felt this scene here is entirely overlooked by the common fan from a symbolic point of view. I find that Yoda's homestead here is beautifully reflective of Luke's character at this point. It's cramped, and Luke feels like he's been tricked and unwillingly trapped with nowhere to escape; and, ironically, his inevitable destiny, the little green fellow, is right in front of him. When I saw this still on Google Images, I thought, "Yep, this is the one," because it shows the arrogant Luke looking away, denying the assistance of Yoda because he's too blinded by his self-confidence to see that the Force rightfully guided him here. If none of that made sense (which is probable, LOL), I sincerely believe that the visual clarity of the claustrophobia in Yoda's hut is wonderfully representative of the feeling of being stuck that Luke feels there, an indirect reminder of the emotions he felt at his home on Tatooine, and it just goes to show how similar of a man he is from A New Hope to The Empire Strikes Back. It's just magical storytelling that can be interpreted from so many perspectives at the end of the day.

As a side note, I love the acting from Mark Hamill and Frank Oz in this moment. It adds a delightful layer of intimacy that is rarely seen in Star Wars movies.

I have one that didn't make it the the final cut of the film as well:

Krennic is my second favorite person associated with the Empire in Canon and Legends altogether. He is the "perfectly imperfect" embodiment of its widespread hubris and the egotistical motives of each individual within its ranks. I feel as though the vibe of this still captures this raw, deep essence of his character flawlessly in its simplicity, and it looks as cool as heck as a result, LOL.

I am quite shocked no one has mentioned this one yet, so I must:

For me, this is the most touching moment of the film. Out of the realization of unstoppable death, the two who initially didn't appreciate each others' presence embraced for the first and last time, as they didn't have anything else to do, and it brings a bittersweet, yet fitting end for the duo. It affirmed the meaning of what the whole final third of the film was subtly trying to convey in their relationship, and it did so with the single line of, "Your father would be proud," which is a whole other story which I could probably write a decent essay about given the time, LOL.

AHHHHHHH, THIS ALL LOOKS GREAT!!!

*Okay, calm down, Joey, calm down*

Anyway, pardon my unrestrained excitement. I just had to emphasize how much I appreciate it when Lucasfilm goes out of their way to stimulate us fans with snippets of details for upcoming High Republic content. It always gets me excited!

As for the new information, I am already loving the plot points revealed to us in the article. With the return of the underlying Dalna conflict from A Test of Courage, I believe that it is almost inevitable that Avon and Honesty, two little ones with a lovely, buoyant dynamic, will return alongside Vern and Imri. I am happy to see that the gang might be back together again for another adventure here, but I do hope Justina takes the group to new bounds, not sticking to characterizations and moments we've already felt before. That's honestly my only concern going into Mission to Disaster.

The fact that we're getting a Jedi based on a Disney Publishing manager just says it all, my friends, LOL. Lyssa Votz sounds like a wonderfully likable person, and I believe she and Reath would get along well. Hopefully, we can see the two interact someday!

I already feel connected to Nyla for some intangible reason. I get heavy Porter Engle vibes from her, and I cannot wait to see how her said "kindness" will impact the story of Mission to Disaster.

The one who intrigues me the most is Mr. Yacek Sparkburn, possibly related to Jordanna from Out of the Shadows. That could stir up something unique, and with that, I cannot wait to see what his role in this story (one that likely doesn't include the San Tekka family based upon what we know now) brings to the table.

Wave Three inches closer every day, my friends, and I couldn't be more thrilled that we are getting early access content this... early!

Finally, I have time to voice my opinions on this great series!

The Rise of Skywalker, for me, is one big, happy celebration of classical Star Wars storytelling in its story, motifs, and characters. And, there is a hefty supply of closure that comes to the narrative because of that, with the help of a bit of fan-service along the way admittedly. The still that is the euphoric epitome of that is ultimately:

Gee... This is a still that brings me back to watching The Rise of Skywalker for the first time, as I was sobbing (in pure happy tears, for the record) at this point in the film. Seeing the heartfelt connection between the individuals who guided us on this journey in three divergent, almost separate ways come together brings an extent of emotion that the Trilogy hadn't quite captured yet in such a memorable manner. Truly lovely!

Mandible caught me so off-guard when I first saw him in The Mandalorian, and I would love to see him again. I feel as though he'd fit in with a comic run or something along those lines. Neat backstories for background characters adds such depth to a single scene, as Star Wars has shown time and time again.

The television/movie media are things I know by heart at this point. I've watched everything from Caravan of Courage to Attack of the Clones ever since I was a wee child.

I've definitely read most of Canon novels and comics. I stopped with comics a few years back, but The High Republic comics and the War of the Bounty Hunters crossover brought me back into it recently. While I stopped following the latter just due to a general sudden lack of interest, I am now catching up on some comic series in Canon that I missed. You can actually see all of the Canon movies/shows/novel/comic series that I've seen/read in my bio.

As for Legends, I haven't picked anything up from the continuity in years. I was invested in it during my teenage years, but then Disney bought the franchise; and, I've been prioritized on what they're prioritizing ever since. I've read probably about 1/4 of Legends material.

I'd say I'm a lot of everything LOL. Gamer and memer don't truthfully apply to me as much as the others do, to be fair.

Unfortunately, my friend, after two readings, it is not, especially if you aren't reading The High Republic Adventures. Going into it, I expected the same general amount of maturity in the other middle-grade High Republic novel, A Test of Courage, but I just didn't feel that tone. For someone like me, it just isn't immersive. The plot is predictable and the characterizations more vague compared to other novels from the era. I must say that it is definitely fun, and it wouldn't hurt to get to know the protagonist, Ram, as he is already showing up in other places around the High Republic; I don't expect that to stop. It is my least favorite work from the initiative, but ultimately, it's up to you to make the final decision.

By the by, I hope you're enjoying Out of the Shadows!

Oh, well thank you for all of the responses, my friends! Apologies for the somewhat late reply.

Glad to see both of my favorite Fistos here, LOL. @Fisto Pump, of course I agree with every point you raise and especially appreciate you piece on the Battle of Kur with Kassav. I definitely believe Kassav went out with a bang, and it is wonderful to see how many twists and turns happen. From the Path engine craziness to him basically saying, "Eh, do whatever you want," to his comrades, I think it all solidified what Charles was trying to say with the Nihil in the novel: There is no order in their structure.

As for Fisto, I don't even want to begin to compare this to Aragorn's series because I am absolutely outmatched by that. It's insanely impressive, and I wish I had the patience and time to accomplish something like that for the forum. I also assuredly comprehend your perspective on Loden. He is rather likable, I'll say, but I just cannot appreciate his presence for reasons in the analysis.

I'm actually really happy you brought up Finial Bright because, yes, he is primarily insignificant, but I love to see Charles still taking the time to develop the side characters right from the get-go. Again, it just shows me how much he wants to showcase these new characters and ideas; it shows me his passion. As for the character himself, I love the chemistry between him and his team. It brings light to a dark situation just like everyone else in the Great Disaster, and it carries that theme of just normal people empowering life-changing moments, which is relevant and motivational in today's society. Considering the rest of the novel, Bright's death is fitting for me, and he serves the purpose he needs to.
