@Sonic Revolution well yes, but technically no.

1. Plastoid which is used for the stormtrooper and clone armor I assume is similar to plastic so naturally it would not conduct the energy.

2. You see no full armor. In something like halo’s sparred armor could make the shield kinda like… on the armor’s surface.

3. Since it’s probably expense having durasteel armor on troops, probably production of the shields.

And I have NO idea about the sw battlefront game’s explanation

The falcon’s 0.5 hyperdrive is well. Like what? 4 times the speed of a Imperial SD.

The Moffs and Grand Moffs directly control the systems. They can easily take regional forces and the planets.
