To Lucas the Jedi were being corrupted by the Clone Wars.

The Jedi are warrior-monks that act as peacekeepers in the galaxy but the war forced them to become generals.

Yes, most of the Jedi in The Phantom Menace are pompous and arrogant but they're still the trying to keep the peace in the galaxy. During the Clone Wars the Jedi fully serve a corrupt Republic yet they still have good intentions.

The Jedi of The Acolyte felt way more corrupt than the Jedi of The Prequel Trilogy.

I accidentally misclicked the Prequel Trilogy option. I meant to choose the Original Trilogy.

Yes, the prequels added a lot of new lore but they also tried to connect things that didn't need to be connected like a young Anakin creating C-3PO for example.

I can't help to feel bad for any fan that is mourning the Star Wars he/she loves. Just like Thor Skywalker and Star Wars Theory I've always viewed Star Wars as sacred despite the changes Lucas made. It's clear it wasn't that sacred to Lucas and I'll admit not viewing as sacred is a much healthier approach compared to fans like myself, Thor Skywalker, and especially Star Wars Theory. In my opinion, the worst thing about The Acolyte besides portraying the dark side as sexy, if said darksider is hot, is that the show doesn't make any sense at all!

I think Mae didn't try to explain things to Jecki is because she's not going to believe her since she is known to be a Jedi killer. Jecki seemed very convinced that Mae killed Kelnacca.

@Hanshotfirstloll Like I said, Lucasfilm's approach to canon encourages creativity (or what they consider creativity) over strict adherence to continuity, embracing different perspectives of even established continuity. You may disagree with that approach but it is what it is.

To Filoni canon in Star Wars is like jazz - free-flowing, ever-changing, and open to individual interpretation. Filoni sees canon as maintaining the heart of a story, even if details change across different mediums. Lucasfilm's approach to canon encourages creativity over strict adherence to continuity, embracing different perspectives.

Most fans didn't complain with The Clone Wars finale season Siege of Mandalore arc even when it altered some stuff from the Ahsoka novel.

But fans do complain in other instances.

Should Star Wars canon be adhered to or is it loose?

In my opinion, The Acolyte is mildly enjoyable. I do like Sol, Osha, and Jecki. I want to know the full story of what occurred between Aniseya's coven and the four Jedi as that fire definitely didn't kill the witches.

I'm personally a Star Wars fan that prefers new stuff even if it clashes with pre-established lore (though not doing that is obviously more preferable).

How Luke was portrayed also didn't bother me but we needed more than three versions of what happened that night. We needed to properly see how Luke could have even considered contemplating killing Ben in his sleep which is a very Sith thing to do.

@Mr. Bubbly Urchin I disagree about Luke having a flat character arc because Luke grew as a character. Was he the most developed character ever, no, but he had a arc nonetheless.

I wish I had more options for everyone to pick in the poll like "TFA is just okay".

The Force Awakens in my opinion was a entertaining reintroduction to Star Wars but a poor sequel to Return of the Jedi.
