While Vader is doubtless a powerful force on the battlefield, as an actual leader I believe Ackbar is superior- the Battle of Endor being an example of his brilliance, where despite being outnumbered and outgunned the Rebel fleet under his command were victorious. Yoda is a great Jedi but not really a great military leader, Grevious and Ren are too blinded by anger to be effective and I can't think of a battle won with Organa's leadership in the Resistance era.

Hello, I had a question about the deletion of my recent April Fool’s post. Was it because April Fool’s posts were banned without my realisation, due to it not being posted under Memes/Fun (I thought it would give the joke away) or because the content of the joke was was considered ragebaity, or some other reason I can’t think of? To point out how absurd this argument is that the Death Star was even remotely justified, I’ll use a real world example. Let’s say you’ve got two countries, the Republic of Alderaan and Imperia. Imperia has a civil war going on, with some rebels that strike at military targets, and receive some aid from the Republic of Alderaan. There are some terrorists that strike at civilian targets, but Alderaan does not support those, has no nuclear weapons and is not in any direct combat with Imperia. Now suppose the rebels steal some information about Imperia’s nuclear weapons. The destruction of Alderaan is essentially equivalent to Imperia nuking the absolute shit out of Alderaan, who have no significant military and cannot prevent their entire population from being wiped out. Millions upon millions of deaths. Does that sound ‘justified’ to you?

I regularly play SWGOH and enjoy the gradual sense of progress it gives. However, as Jade said it is a game where you need patience (or considerable amounts of money) to make progress. While yes, the recent changes to conquest have been less than ideal and the Executor has broken the high level fleet meta, these are mainly issues that affect late to end game players. On the contrary, there may be some ease to the gear crunch on the horizon, which would be a universally welcomed change.

Overall I would say the situation for sub level 85s is getting better, not worse. I have been playing SWGOH free to play for almost a year now, and I certainly enjoy it. Absolutely not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you have enough patience and enjoy the daily grind, I’d recommend playing it.

Yes, the Republic was corrupt, largely ineffective at protecting its outlying citizens and filled with problems.

Change needed to happen, but it absolutely did not need to be in the form of a dictatorship.

Yes, the Rebellion killed Imperials. Yes, those Imperials had families, feelings, hopes and dreams. Not all of them were evil.

Sadly, that’s the reality and tragedy of war. Those Imperials were fighting for a corrupt and evil government that had proven its willingness to kill innocents, and there was no peaceful way to bring it down.

Yes, the New Republic had many of the same issues as its predecessor.

But I echo what I said before. Change to the system can come in forms other than dictatorship.

None of them were perfect. But I will take them every day of the goddamn week over a corrupt, racist, destructive, evil dictatorship that murdered billions of people just to keep power in the hands of one man.
