There's no government that isn't corrupt in some form, if there is then I'd be genuinely surprised.
I mean I suppose on a broader sense, that Squad 7 would be more versatile since it consists of ARC Trained Commanders, Pilots, Marines, Sea-Specialists, Demo Specialists and Snipers.
Compared this to The Muunilinst 10 who had 2 ARC LTs with 7 Infantry Clones + Fordo. Though this isn't to say that the CWMMP Clone Troopers are anything to brush off however.
If we just take the Muunilinst 10 at...well Muunilinst, then Squad 7 is probably the superior just due to the versatility they can bring.
^ He didn't really fight Palpatine, the book which is the actual lore, he just locked into a Lightning struggle with Palps and basically entered a state of Oneness, sacrificing himself for those that he cared about.
Beating Vader isn't much of a stretch considering that he was trained by the guy and Galen is suppose to be Luke's photo negative, he's suppose to be Luke if he had taken Vader's offer within ESB, the devs created this character with the mind of him being in the upper top tier of Force Users. That and in TFU 3, we were suppose to get hit with the realization that Vader pretty much has held back against Galen this whole time and was gonna wreck him. Least according to Sam, unfortunately we'll never get TFU 3 to complete the story and that will forever peeve me, because of that damned cliffhanger in TFU 2...
Lest we also not forget that Obi-Wan had another Apprentice under him, Halagad Ventor who actually got some new life into him before Disney axed everything. In Clone Wars: A Skyewalkers Story, he's written to basically be Anakin's brother and Obi-Wan is essentially their Father in a manner of speaking.
This is how I think writers should work, use perhaps old characters and give them new life rather than making up a whole new character. Because the older characters, they can still work and frankly what Abel G Pena did with him was nothing short of greatness.
My only real regret is that we'll never get anything else about Halagad, because he was an interesting character. His dynamic and how he relates to Anakin, even moreso than Obi-Wan is pretty interesting.
But yeah, the time before the PT was a curious one and I enjoyed it for what it is.
This depends on the situation, these two groups aren't at all similar and are for different things. If I'm wanting infiltration/sabotage and the like, Clone Commandos obviously, but if anything else like a full battle engagement, then the Wookiees.
I guess to put it better, Lucas wasn’t heavy handed about it and generally let the authors play within the sandbox. I mean he wasn’t like a hawk over them about what was put in.
Legends, it didn’t drag one of my favorite factions through the mud and then some. Plus I find it better structured.
@Aragorn Skywalker Of House Stark I mean yeah initially his past was terrible, but then look what happened? He found another family, had someone really care for him and he became Mandalore. I can sympathize him to an extent, but entirely.
Sure he lost Jaster, but Grievous lost pretty much everything and was completely transformed and filled with hate. Jango at least was still able to have a life and have support.
Yeah, but with that even with the multiverses/other Earths, it's still following the same characters that could be found on the main Earths, just you might come across some changes with them. I mean I suppose on a broad scope, the world building within DC/Marvel is huge, but on more minute details? Not too sure.
My point being though, is SW has gotten some pretty intricate details with regards to its world building, not just characters mind you, but to planets, species and so forth. Granted most of this is read in Sourcebooks/RPG guides, but I mean....it's there to read and you can feel like there's a huge galaxy with stuff actually happening outside of the main cast of characters or more popular ones, that life actually goes on even without them.
So this makes SW ONE OF the most largest settings in my opinion, though there are obviously just as big or even bigger ones out there.
At least in Legends Continuity anyway, I'm not sure how Canon has really done on its approach honestly.
Also yes I am a big CWMMP fan. I find it that is captures the Clone Wars EXTREMELY well in various aspects.
Not THE, but one of. Not sure why DC or Marvel has a comparison, they seem more focused on just following the Heroes and Villains around. Star Wars does that, but also they actually give detail in how the galaxy operates and you can find entire stories or info on even the most insignificant character(compared to the main ones) and actually follow them.
Phow Ji? Kaird? Bleyd? Eogan Truax? Edge? Alto Stratus? Erv Lekauf? Nanda? Janek Sunber? Darca Nyl? CT-5539? TK-622?
Anyone know who the hell I'm talking about? Exactly.
What, no Alto Stratus here?
Also can you really call Durge, Ventress, Jango and Dooku's pasts sympathetic? Grievous here is really the only one on the list that deserves any sympathy for what happened to him.
No because Force Healing in Canon also heals injuries and saves someone from dying, though this has to be done between a Dyad and the person who saves that other dies apparently if Kylo is any indication.
So they really they just made it more complicated and apparently a rarity with Healing in Canon. Unless that has changed recently, but then see that bringing someone back from the dead seems to kill the other, not worth it.
Compared to Legends where even Padawans know how to heal themselves. Jedi just can’t save someone from dying, unless they know Dark Transfer but this again is a Dark Side power that came much later and I doubt the Jedi would use it anyway.
Force Healing has been a staple Jedi thing in Legends Continuity as far back as the Je’daii Order and going through up the Luke’s Jedi Order. It’s been in Continuity since the late 80s/early 90s.
The issue was saving people from dying, it couldn’t extend that far(not including Dark Transfer but this was a Dark Side technique that came centuries later). But that said Padme dying was the result of Anakin’s fall and everything that she fought for going down the drain. It had zero to do with injury.
^ Eh maybe on paper they are closer, but from what I've seen, their respective parts are worse in Canon than in Legends. But that's a whole other topic.
Navy Troopers are underrated though yeah, they aren't as great as Army or Stormtroopers. Although in Legends Continuity I'd probably put the Death Star Troopers above Army regulars. Seeing as Tarkin wanted the best for the Death Star.
Depends on what Canon you're looking at.
Legends Canon.
Stormtroopers = Elite shocktroopers, they hit hard and fast, no ground driven vehicles by them. They are a strict Infantry force that is the spearhead of an assault, they move forward.
Imperial Army Troops= They assist the Stormtroopers by fighting alongside and keeping ground taken, the Army is also augmented by vehicles and drive pretty much everything seen, the Walkers, Tanks, etc.
That's kind of wrong, because if they have the source then why not put the citation? Seems just lazy. I mean I'm not saying to doubt everything on the Wookieepedia, usually some citations are linked with unsourced citations, which is fine. But take with a grain of salt, until verification yeah?
But there have been articles that have been wrong, though some of them thankfully have been edited to not include the mistaken info or have clarified.
Depends on the charge, if you mean full charged shot, that is a full 24 hours, anything less was more like 1 to 2 hours.
Also Byib I'd contest that, the Wookieepedia has contradicting info or info that isn't even sourced and some info is straight up lying. The Wookieepedia isn't 100% right, sources should always come first before Wookieepedia.
When you put it like that, that just makes it worse to me...
I mean as far as I've seen, the GI has been the only one to actually get the job done in capturing a Jedi. Trilla immediately fails considering she not only failed, but she turned away from the Inquisitorius.
The track record on the whole for this organization has been....really poor and I can't believe this is what they've been reduced to compared to before.
