Whenever I see a "best pilot" poll, there's always a few names that get pretty close votes for 1st place: Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. It's usually between the Skywalkers for the most part though.
However, there is one person, who does sometimes show up, but definitely doesn't get the credit she deserves: Hera Syndulla.
Say all you want about Solo and the Skywalkers, but I actually have a very solid arguement on just why Specter-1, Phoenix Leader, better known as General Hera Syndulla, is the best pilot in the galaxy.
THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD, SO BEWARE!!!
Also, this isn't in any particular order other than which part came to my mind first, lol.
1). She has broken through SEVERAL Imperial blockades, including the massive one on Lothal in Season 4 of Rebels, and she was in a U-Wing when she did that, which might be faster than the Ghost (a VCX-100 light freighter cargo ship), but is probably slower than an X-wing, given that it's sorta a troop transport kinda ship.
2). While being pursued by Vader himself, she managed to get his TIE Advanced stuff in the tractor of a Star Destroyer that was aiming to capture the Ghost. Vader may have the Force, but Hera definitely bested him in that scenario.
3). She flew a prototype starfighter, a B-wing (Blade-wing), through an extremely dangerous atmostsphere that housed electrical storms and several tall rocks, without ever having any experience with a ship like it before. Then, on her second-ever flight with that ship, she broke through yet another Imperial blockade.
4). While transporting Senator Mon Mothma to Dantoonine, she flew through a solar nebula while being pursued by TIE Defenders, and even took at least one of them out if I remember correctly.
5). Grand Admiral Thrawn himself is impressed with her skills as a pilot, which is a great achievement if you ask me.
I'm sure people will have equally valid arguments on why Solo or the Skywalkers may be the best pilots, but hey, we're all entitled to our opinions. These are just my reasons why I think Hera is the best.
Anyways, who do you guys think is the best pilot, and possibly why?
I personally would like to see Sebastian Stan as Luke.
Okay, after watching Family Guy, I have to ask this. I mean honestly, why near the ending Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Lando is wearing Han's clothes in this scene? It makes no sense.

Saw these pieces of fan art a while back of characters from Rankin/Bass specials as Star Wars characters.
Francesca (Mad Monster Party) as Princess Leia, and the butler (Pinocchio's Christmas) as Grand Moff Tarkin.
Santa Claus (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Blarney Kilakilarney (The Leprechauns' Christmas Gold) as Yoda.
Dr. Jekyll (Mad Monster Party) as Han Solo.
Snow Miser (The Year Without a Santa Claus) as Emperor Palpatine.
Hermey (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) as Luke Skywalker.
And Bumble (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) as Chewbacca.
Personally, as a long-time fan of Rankin/Bass' work, I think these are very cleverly done. But what does anyone else think of these mashups?

If Han shot first, it shows how cold blooded he was at that point in the story and emphasizes his path to becoming selfless by the end of the series. But if he shot second that emphasizes his skill that he was able to dodge a laser blast from point blank and counter in the blink of an eye, and it does make Han look like the bigger man as Han at least gave the assassin a chance to walk away before coldly executing him.
