It seems that the last episode of Tales of the Jedi is now supposed to be set after the Ahsoka novel instead of replacing it, but This is still a version of the novel and saying it takes place after it has a few issues.
1 near the end of the novel after her fight with the Black Sun assassin Ahsoka abandons the Ashla persona and name for good. But in the episode she is still going by Ashla.
2 at the end of the novel Ahsoka fully joins the rebellion after the evacuation of Raada. but the episode says it took her longer. Actually it says this is the first time she has contacted Bail after Padme's funeral, which says the episode is the novel as that was when Ahsoka reunited with Bail for the first time after order 66.
3 At the end of the novel Ahsoka builds a new pair of lightsabers. If this is after the novel why doesn't she use them to fight the first brother? We know she won't go up against a lightsaber wielding opponent unarmed if she can avoid it. In the novel she tries to finish building her new sabers before going to rescue Kaeden from the sixth brother. It is only when she is unable to do so that she goes and faces him unarmed. If this is after the novel she must have her weapons hidden somewhere in her clothes. So why doesn't she use them? Her cover is blown and she knew it the moment she saw the inquisitor. He also identifies her by name as soon as he sees her so he knows exactly who she is (unlike 6th brother who only knew she is a Jedi) so why if she has her sabers doesn't she use them? The fact that she doesn't again says the episode is the novel not set after it.
