I know Ford lobbied for Han to die by this point as he felt the character had completed his story. But honestly, having any of the main heroes die here would have completely undercut the tone and message of the original trilogy. This is classic good guys triumphing over the bad guys. The warm satisfaction of Return’s fairy tale ending is the perfect conclusion to the trilogy.

All good. I’m glad none of them died, although I wouldn’t have been horrified if someone did: it adds extra sorrow to the victory.

We had more than enough deaths in Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One.

The ending is perfection.

Considering how much I like the old EU the ot ended perfectly.

Darth Vader did die. After he was restored, which is tragic with the whole skywalker saga in mind.

True, if we include Imperials we have Sheev, Anakin, Piett, Jerjorrod and Aloo, Janus, Sate and all the council members.
