It depends on continuity, but the answer is generally yes.

In Canon, the Inquisitorius are obviously there to hunt down what remained of the Jedi (in group, so they needn’t be that strong) and have no other purpose. After they served that purpose, they “vanished” by 0 ABY (I’ll let you fill the gaps as to how). They are barely Dark Jedi, just broken people trying to survive a system that will eventually cast them aside because it suffers no threat to the Sith Lords that run it.

In Legends, Inquisitors are also there to hunt Jedi, but with numerous other tasks. They also serve to inflict terror on Rebel cells and crush them should the situation escalate too far for conventional repression to work. They have relative independence from one another and one of them, called Jerec, was allowed to study deeper aspects of the dark side. However, he was the exception and most of the Inquisitorius were Acolyte-level in terms of their dark side knowledge.
