For me, it was a toss up between lightsaber duels and star fighter dogfights. Allston and Stackpole’s writing were phenomenal in the X-Wing series; every fight just kept me reading page after page after page.

Oh, and I also liked Star Wars: Squadrons, anyone remember that?

There is nothing better than a good lightsaber fight.

Dreadnoughts and Cruisers slugging away at each other during the Clone wars has to take it for me. Yes lightsaber duels are cool but if you think about it it's just a swordfight with glowy swords. Capital ship space combat is not something you can find on Earth, whereas essentially all the other forms of combat are present, bar starfighter combat which I would say is a parralel to dogfighting.

Space combat in general is my favorite, as what’s the point of it being STAR Wars unless you go out into space as a major setting? I think that the modern fandom places way too much emphasis on Lightsaber battles at the expense of space battles.
