Two months ago, we announced the completion of a policy outlining how we'd go about bringing aboard new moderators for the forum—since before then no formal procedure existed—and last night we put up the very first nomination in modern times.
@Joupena and I have nominated UndyingSoldier (pings are still broken, but he'll see this eventually) to become a mod, and there's a vote ongoing now to confirm the nomination.
On that vote page I've explained a bit more about the process, but in short, we figured he'd be a good fit with so much experience on the forum, so we reached out to him, and he said he was interested!
If you are interested in voting on this nomination, remember that there are requirements you have to meet for your vote to count.
Basically you need to have met a minimum level of activity on the site—either 50 wiki edits or 200 forum posts within the last six months prior to when this vote was posted (yesterday). If you're not sure whether you meet either of these criteria, just ask here first and we can check whether you're able to vote.
If all goes well, we'll have a new mod in two weeks' time! It'll be cool to see how this turns out.
