This is more a case of least bad post-NJO series.
^Agreed. The only thing I liked Post-NJO novels was the Legacy comics.
^ Same. These are all, to put it kindly, very patchy.
Dark Nest is probably the worst.
Then I can't really call it with the other two. Maybe Legacy. By Fate, I had significant EU fatigue. In fairness I had that towards the end of both the X-Wing and NJO series too.
The first Zahn Thrawn trilogy is definitely the post ROTJ high-water mark for me. It was mostly downhill from there. Principally because X-Wing and NJO were spread far too thin across too many books.
^No need to sugar code it lol. They were more than patchy for me. My feelings towards the LOTF novels are equivalent to my feelings towards the ST. That novel series is pretty much why my Star Wars canon ends with the NJO novels.
^ Because the galaxy's greatest pacifist becomes an evil warlord. Why, just why.
^Exactly! When I read that I was just…sigh*. Jacen is essentially the Qui Gon Jinn of the New Jedi Order. He loved all life and he was adamantly against the Jedi becoming soldiers in the war. He didn’t even hate the Yuuzhan Vong for killing his brother or Chewie. The Legacy novels essentially turning him into Darth Vader made my head do a complete 360 lol.
I know. Such a flimsy premise. That peace is only obtainable by using conflict to subdue the galaxy.
Stupid.
Jaina would have made more sense to me. Even then I probably wouldn't have liked to see her go dark side either.
^Agreed. At least Jaina actually showed some inclinations of slipping into the dark side, although like you, I probably wouldn’t have liked that either. Still, it would’ve made more sense for Jaina to fall since the sight of the Yuuzhan Vong in possession of Anakin’s body made her unleash force lightning. Not to mention one of the NJO novels was centered on her growing detachment from her loved ones and even Kyp, the poster child of sins was like “Uh…wait a minute Jaina. You don’t wanna go down that road.”
Yep.
If Kyp Durran is cautioning against destructive excess then you know you are on shaky ground.
It would be like Vader suggesting you've executed enough employees.
^Right lol. Pot calling the kettle black up in here.
Or Vader saying you probably shouldn’t slaughter some kids.
What do you think?
