Nice joke, this is not the first time I heard people say that.

The answer to when he died depends on what type of death you mean imo. He died metaphorically when he turned to the dark side, he died physically on the Death Star II.

^ I initially meant to say that as well. Like how the titular character says…

”Anakin is gone, I am what remains.” And “You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker. I did.”

But what about the time where he redeemed? Then he may have metaphorically revived at the cost of his physical life.
