I think the live-action TV shows, with the exception of Andor, have been of too poor quality to likely have done Jedi: The Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor any justice if they had also been told in that format. My unpopular opinion is that even The Mandalorian is only a decent TV show at best.

Also while I have been critical of video games not respecting adult's time, I think we're past the era where we should still be generalizing video gaming as not being for adults. Many adults in their 20s–30s do enjoy making time for video games nowadays. It has become a normalized pastime, just like reading fiction or watching TV. It is only a problem when the game is a sprawling, bloated open-world RPG with copy-and-paste content like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which saying so, we should brace ourselves for Star Wars: Outlaws being similar.

Honestly I have imagined Survivor as a film, it's just that good.

Plenty of adults play video games, it's not 1990 anymore. If they had been movies they would have been severely shortened because the games are pretty long. This is like saying any of the comics or books should have been movies because people don't read, it doesn't make sense. There's no way they would ever have the resources to make these movies instead.

Edit: I'd like to follow up on this by saying that video games are an equally valid form of media. Books, movies, comics, games, and shows are all just ways to tell a story. By saying that one story should have been told in a different format not only invalidates the original media format but also the story as well by saying that it's not good enough because of how it was told. Adaptions are okay because they draw from the original work but simply stating it should have been done differently is not.

I personally do not think this is an adults versus younglings issue.

I think this is just a gamer versus non gamer issue.

If I like the characters and I like the graphics, why do I have to commit hours and hours in front of a gaming console,using trial and error, just to see what happens to this character’s story?

The graphics are just as good as what you would see in recent episodes of the bad batch anyway.

So why not just reformat it into episodic format that I can watch each week on D+ without the gaming commitment?

Its just a different way of enjoying the content, really.

You can technically watch game movies on youtube to find out what happens to the characters without actually playing the game. Most of them are only a couple hours long so it’s not as big a time commitment as actually playing the game.

I have actually wanted to play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the Xbox to find out that part of the Star Wars story and intend on doing so really soon! I’m sure it will take me a while before I would finish it though. See, my 10 year old son truly LOVES when I play video games with him and he is the one who got me back into playing video games in the first place. We play on Roblox (which is totally a lot fun), the Xbox, the 1st gen. Switch (and I actually have my own Switch Lite as well) and then the old WiiU. So with that being said, I’m a 45 year old woman who actually enjoys playing video games! I had bought my sons the Xbox gaming console for Christmas a little while back only to realize that it came with the free download of Fallen Order. The only reason I haven’t downloaded it yet is because I need to find the dang box it came in and hope n pray that the download code is still in it. 🤞🏻 In the end, I would TRULY love and prefer to see the Fallen Order in animation as I’m a HUGE Star Wars animation fan! (Think Bad Batch, Rebels and of course Clone Wars!) But a live action movie or show would work as well! In the end, I’m not that picky.
